I have the previous model SZ5 Mild Hybrid with 1.0L 3 cyl Boosterjet Engine which has 109bhp. Got to say very underwhelmed by the new model, it just looks lie a facelift of my car. Slightly different at the front, and the tail lamps slightly different as well. Interior is almost identical apart from the larger infotainment screen. Overall the car is not that much different. The main disappointment is the engine only delivering a measly 81bhp, don't get me wrong I love my Swift, but to release a new model almost identical with a lesser powered engine that is so much slower is a backwards step by Suzuki. BTW having now had a test drive in the new model last week can confirm it is like a snail on valium compared to The 1.0 SZ5 Boosterjet Engine, I was actually shocked at how much slower it was. Again I absolutely love my current Swift as it has everything, but current owners will be massively put off by a ridiculous loss in performance of a so called new model,and many like myself will not purchase this 'clone' of the previous model with a woefully underpowered engine.

Worth a look though a heated wheel is high on our wish list and the speed sign recognition could do with a simple silence button to make getting moving simple, motion wheels are ugly as bin lids, lots going for it otherwise.

Great review, thank you. Do you know why randomly a very high pitch warning comes on for about 10 secs, when driving on.I have turned off the two audible warnings in mgpilot but it's still happening. It's very distracting and annoying. A few more drivers are picking up on this. It's the only gripe I have on an otherwise great car 👍

MG pilot is not safe I find it irresponsible for any reviewer to not state that it does not work, it’s bloody dangerous. Auto high beam can’t detect other cars , LKA will steer you into on coming traffic and auto break will stop your car randomly.

In January 2024 I ordered the trophy long range version ( replaced the trophy connect) as a company car over the Hyundai kona thinking it was bigger. Gutted to discover there was a new kona that is the same size . Hoping it’s not as bad as many reviews make out. Gutted MG removed the sunroof as that would have been great

Really helpful, especially the demo of the screen - my ancient qashqai has none of this modern tech. Didn’t know the Excite trim came with follow me home headlights, thought that was only on Exclusive. I’ve just ordered the Excite for the new 24 plate - no brainer when the only competition at this price point is the Dacia Sandero Stepway and alloys not even an option unless you go top spec on that. I can’t wait for March.

I'd like to buy MG Plugin Hybrid, does it have autopilot? How does it compare to Tesla free version pilot? I basically do not wanna by Tesla at all. But I'd like to buy very good autopilot.
